No secret is 100% safe. This is mainly because in this age of eternal information, if the idea that something exists ever gets out, no one will stop until they come up with some ludicrous theory about what it is. So is the thing with Chess Mistress Hex; some time ago her name was loosely associated with a few incidents, and the web began a stirring. Was she really real? Was she just a hacker whose name had gotten swept up in the swirl of events on accident? Or was she a poison pill who had infiltrated numerous positions?
No one may ever know, but one theory seems to be standing out above others: Chess Mistress Hex is the mysterious Shinobi known only as "Shadow."
Shadow's legend is well known, but only as legend. Personal details about her life have been brief, clouded, and mostly non-existent. However, many events rumored to have had the Shinobi Shadow present have also been rumored to have had the fabled hacker Chess Mistress Hex present. Of course, these are only rumors. It is entirely possible that neither of them actually exists at all, but if they do, one person who has developed the skills to sneak into all of these places at the same time seems far more likely then two people. So it seems likely they might be the same.
Perhaps soon we will have proof of one of their existences... Perhaps.
