Wars TCG spot from Rob Burns on Vimeo.
A Commercial for the WARS tcg from back in 2004 has surfaced online- I remember watching it back then on a grindingly slow internet connection. Now its available for you to watch and share. It does a pretty good job of summing up the world of WARS, as well as giving a better picture of what the "Mumon RIft" looks like. Check it out!

As is obvious from looking at the bar at the top of the site, we're expanding. From to requests from many people in many places, we've figured out that you folks want a place that will be your be all end all recourse for WARS gaming and fiction. So we're trying to make that. The forums have a new discussion area for fiction. We have a great new section on Homebrew rules- and a place for Decklists we're still working on! We're open for submissions for either one. We're also working on getting a section of the site about the WARS rpg ready- though thats a bit more far off. Look for more updates as time goes on, and please send in your own submissions! Make any sugesttions in the comments of this blog. In other news it looks like Mongoose publishing has cut the price of the PDF of the WARS rpg. Its still more then I'd like ($26.97) but if you've been waiting for a price cut you can get it at Drive Thru RPG here: http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/product_info.php?products_id=2722&it=1 The WARS Novellas seem to be coming along well, and from what I've heard from the little Birdies ar Grail Quest Books, Earther-2 will be exploring some intersting historical Parallels, and the first Gongen and Maverick Novellas are coming along great. Make of that what you will. Remember that WARS: The Battle of Phobos, Earther-1 by Nathan P. Butler is Available right now here: http://www.indyplanet.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=4568 All of us here at the Zocho wish you a happy and safe Christmas. We'd also like to wish you a happy holiday for all the many Non-Christians out there. Kojiko got all dressed up for the day, so make sure you enjoy yourselves so she didn't waste time she could have been hanging out with Starhawk for nothing. (Though I'm sure he found the hat very amusing.) Grail Quest Books has just launched their official WARS facebook page (Link HERE), WARS Universe. They have discussion groups, a newsfeed with all their WARS updates, and probably more as they get going. They've also posted up a press release about the release of the first WARS novella HERE. The Zocho is giddy as a Gongen seeing a NoBot about all of this, so we'll be keeping you updated. Hopefully the Grail Quest WARS site with the short fiction from when the card game was in print will be up soon so its readily available to everyone. See the previous post for where you can order WARS: The Battle of Phobos, Healers and Hunters. You're looking at an image from the brand new WARS illustrated Novella "The Battle of Phobos: Healers and Hunters" written by Nathan P. Butler. You can buy it right now HERE at Grail Quest books and HERE at Indy Planet. The First Gongen Novella has also been aproved by Decipher for printing, so it will be coming up soon! Things are happening crazy fast after all these years of cricket noises! Grail Quest Books is set to publish the first of their series of WARS Novellas, "The Battle of Phobos: Earther 1" by Nathan P. Butler soon, hopefully by December 21st, but this is NOT an official release date so don't count on it. The WARS novellas have had quite the epic development, getting pushed back from a summer release, but its a miracle WARS is getting new fiction, so as long as they get released, I'm happy. A very good sign is that Pre-Orders are in fact ending come December 19th! So The Novella should be in our hands before January at the latest (by my rough guestimate). More Info and Pre-Orders: http://www.grailquestbooks.com/index/?p=304 Are you exited for new WARS? Hanover's first ever charity card and game tournament was a bigger success then we expected. Hanver is a small campus, so an upper goal was set for $100 to donate. We thought it would be a struggle to reach it. Turns out, the generousity of people, and their desire to have fun, was grossly underestimated! We raised $173.44 for Amnesty International in total, with three great tournaments (Call of Duty was cancelled due to technical difficulties). Thank you to everyone who showed up or just donated! And stay tuned here for more news about charity events, WARS, and Amnesty International. Grail Quest Books, a comptany founded by former Decipher employee Josh Radke and his wife Kasandra, has gained the liscense rights to publish a series of novellas set in the WARS universe. These novellas will be set during the battle of Phobos (a moon of Mars) which solidified Gongen (Martian) independence from Earth. This is before the Rift opened that brought the Quay and Shi into play, so expect a series of humano-centric books that should explain the backround of the universe for the Mavericks, Gongen, and Earthers as we've never seen before. No publishing dates have been set yet- but the first Graphic Novells (WARS Earther-1) should be coming soonish. I can't wait. http://www.grailquestbooks.com http://www.facebook.com/grailquestbooks |
